ORGANIZATIONAL CAPACITY BUILDING
The Center for Research Strategies believes that improving the effectiveness of organizations promotes better client service. We apply state-of-the-art organizational theories to advance leadership, team-building, and results-oriented management within our client organizations. Within primary care practices, in particular, we provide training and technical assistance to incorporate chronic care model concepts to the delivery of patient care, focusing on assessment tools, care management, patient self-management and clinician education.
Over the past three years, the Center for Research Strategies has engaged in the following projects:
- Dr. Nutting and the CRS team, in partnership with the Colorado Clinical Guidelines Collaborative (CCGC), is conducting organizational assessments of primary care practices and developing customized interventions to improve the delivery of depression care.
- Dr. Nutting has served as the Chair of the Diabetes Task Force sponsored by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment to promote broader awareness of diabetes prevention and intervention strategies among Colorado’s clinical community
- Dr. Nutting is working with the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Psychiatric Association to develop learning collaboratives by which both primary care physicians and internists can improve the delivery of depression care in primary care settings.
Staff from the Center for Research Strategies are nationally recognized for their work in promoting quality care in primary care practice settings and in using organizational coaching techniques to improve the delivery of patient care.
